The rate is £7.83 per hour, and this was introduced on 1st April 2016 and is for over 25s.

£116 per week for the current tax year.

Redundancy is defined by s.139 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 as a dismissal which is “wholly or mainly attributable to – (1). The fact that the employer has ceased or intends to cease. (2). To carry on the business for the purposes of which the employee was employed, or (3). To carry on that business in the place where the employee was so employed, or (4). The fact that the requirements of that business. (5). For employees to carry out work of a particular kind, or (6). For employees to carry out work of a particular kind in the place where the employee was employed by the employer,have ceased or diminished or are expected to cease or diminish.”

£92.05 per week (from 6th April 2018)

The maximum compensation for unfair dismissal is now potentially over £75,000 and employees are entitled to make a claim of unfair dismissal within the Employment Tribunal after 2 full years of continuous employment.
